Is there any reason to doubt the credibility of the Respondent?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Xie v Yuan, 2018 BCSC 941 (CanLII):

The claimant points to the significantly late disclosure as a reason to doubt the respondent’s credibility, in addition to his conduct in the litigation. The respondent did not complete his Form 8 until September 25, 2017 (the 17th day of trial) and it did not include any information about assets in the United States, notwithstanding that is where the respondent had been living and working until he returned to Canada on Day 3 of the trial. There was also a mid-trial application by the respondent to admit into evidence an audio recording, which I denied: Xie v. Yuan, 2017 BCSC 1766.
