Is a realtor required to give a written notice of intent to sell a property to the purchaser by email or facsimile?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Ever Green Ecological Services Ltd. v. 1284768 Alberta Ltd., 2009 ABQB 45 (CanLII):

As held in St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church v. Ottawa (City), 1982 SCR 616, the manner of notice (delivery mail, email or facsimile) or even to place of notice may be permissive and not mandatory, but the only reasonable interpretation of paragraph 19 is that any notice under that paragraph must be given in writing and must be given to both the purchaser and its realtor.
