"[A] trial court in a criminal case is requiredwith or without a requestto give correct jury instructions on the general principles of law relevant to issues raised by the evidence." (People v. Mutuma (2006) 144 Cal.App.4th 635, 640.) This includes instructing on all of the elements of the charged offense. (People v. Cummings (1993) 4 Cal.4th 1233, 1311.)
