What is the standard of review in a civil case?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Andison v. Katz, 2012 MBCA 107 (CanLII):

9 The parties are in agreement, as am I, that the standard of review on this appeal is correctness on a question of law and palpable and overriding error on a question of fact or on a question of mixed fact and law, unless there is an extricable question of law within the question of mixed fact and law. (For a fuller explanation of the standard of review in a civil case, see Tuteckyj v. Winnipeg (City), 2012 MBCA 100 at paras. 8-13 and the cases listed in para. 9 therein.)
