Rules of ordinary contractual interpretation apply to determining the parties' intentions, as evidenced by the written document. Ambiguity is a prerequisite to resorting to extrinsic evidence to assist in the interpretation of that agreement: Byrne v. Byrne, [2013] B.C.J. No. 1112.
