What is the test for possession of a firearm?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v. Pauls, 2002 SKPC 114 (CanLII):

16. In Cassidy v. The Queen[1], Lamer J. (as he then was) wrote: Section 85 (now section 88) requires proof of possession and proof that the purpose of that possession was one dangerous to the public peace. There must at some point in time be a meeting of these two elements. Generally the purpose will have been formed prior to the taking of possession and will continue as possession is taken.
