What is the limitation period for making a demand on a non-demand debt?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Uni-Select Eastern Inc. v. 2067195 Ontario Inc., 2018 ONSC 2345 (CanLII):

It is commonly understood that the limitation period begins to run once a demand is made. The parties do not disagree about this. With a non-demand debt obligation the limitation period begins to run on the date the creditor becomes aware or ought to have been aware that the obligation may be enforced due to a breach of the lending agreement: [Skuy v. Greennough, at para. 43].
