In what circumstances will a court order a 14-year-old boy to live with his father?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from G.Z. v. F.M., 2010 ONSC 3294 (CanLII):

In Miller v. Reaume, [1999] O.J. No. 933 (Sup. Ct.), Justice Marshman ordered a 14 ½‑year‑old boy to live with his father even though he was steadfast in expressing his wish to reside with his mother. This was due to the fact that his health and schooling suffered when he lived with his mother. In this case, it is M.’s modeling of his father’s inappropriate disrespectful behavior that is harmful.
