Is there any case law in favour of immunity for judges of the Superior Court of Justice?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Shaw v. Trudel, 1988 CanLII 5702 (MB CA):

No doubt that is why, in Sirros v. Moore, [1975] Q.B. 118, Lord Denning M.R. said (at p. 136): ... as a matter of principle the judges of superior courts have no greater claim to immunity than the judges of the lower courts. Every judge of the courts of this land — from the highest to the lowest — should be protected to the same degree, and liable to the same degree. If the reason underlying this immunity is to ensure "that they will be free in thought and independent in judgement," it applies to every judge, whatever hs rank.
