Does a notice of assignment need to be served on the solicitors for the executors of the estate?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Buckham v. Royal Bank of Canada, 1976 CanLII 320 (AB QB):

It is submitted, on the other hand, by counsel for the respondent, that once the notice of assignment has been served on the solicitors for the executors of the estate the assignment and its title to the moneys is perfected so that the transaction is complete prior to the intervention of the trustee. He relies on the case Hunt v. Fripp (1898), 1 Ch. 675.
