For the purposes of appeal, is there any case law or case law dealing with damages or costs?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Paskivski v. Canadian Pacific Limited (Canadian Pacific Railway Company), 1973 ALTASCAD 30 (CanLII):

For these reasons the appeal should be allowed and the action of the plaintiffs dismissed. In this view, it is unnecessary to deal with the question of damages, nor with the question of negligence or responsibility on the part of the parents, a matter which is the subject of an interesting and useful discussion in McCallion v. Dodd et al (1966) N.Z.L.R. 710. Costs may be spoken to if requested by the appellant. DATED at Calgary, Alberta, this 11th day of April, A.D. 1973.
