When will the date of division of the matrimonial home be used to calculate interest in the home?

Nova Scotia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Fleckney v. Fleckney, 2011 NSSC 253 (CanLII):

The Respondent relies on the decision in Simmons v. Simmons, 196 N.S.R.(2d) 140 as support for her position that the date of division of the asset by the court is the appropriate date to use for the purposes of calculating her interest in the matrimonial home, particularly in light of the benefit to the Petitioner of having had exclusive possession of the home after separation.
