The following excerpt is from Swaren v. Swaren, 2007 ABQB 193 (CanLII):

In Peter v. Beblow, supra, the plaintiff took care of all of the housekeeping including cooking, laundry, cleaning, snow shovelling and child care. She also undertook various projects to improve the property including fence painting and gardening. The defendant owned the property and also took care of it. By maintaining the property and performing essential domestic work, the defendant was able to pay down the mortgage and acquire other assets he was therefore enriched.
