What are the circumstances for a nunc pro tunc order to be issued?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Oulds v. Dupuis, 2009 CanLII 22566 (ON SC):

While these circumstances do not fit within the category of circumstances where nunc pro tunc orders have been issued as described in Parker v. Atkinson, I do not take that decision as standing for the proposition that the circumstances outlined therein are the only circumstances where nunc pro tunc orders should issue. That case dealt with whether the court ought to give its approval to a 1988 marriage contract entered into by the committee of a mentally incompetent person, a much different situation than here.
