Can a child of the marriage regain his or her lost status?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from MacEachern v. MacEachern, 2020 ONSC 31 (CanLII):

In the event that a child has ceased to be a child of the marriage a question may arise whether the child can regain his or her lost status. Each fact situation must be analyzed carefully and the timelines between the time the child has ceased to be a child of the marriage and the time when the request is being made to regain the lost status must be considered fully: Lawless v. Asaro, 2003 CarswellOnt 2416.
