Where one parent has physical custody of a child and the parents share custody of another child, the claim for child support has come to be called a “hybrid” claim. The Guidelines do not provide a specific formula for such a claim. Essentially, it includes a claim for full Table support for one child, and a s. 9 shared custody claim for the other. This situation arose in Hofsteede v. Hofsteede.[11] The court discussed the alternate approaches that had been taken in the case law:
