What is the effect of having proper legal advice on an unfair agreement?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Nguyen v. Nguyen, 2013 BCSC 812 (CanLII):

Having had proper legal advice will not preserve an unfair agreement, but such advice makes it more difficult for a party to an agreement to later assert that they did not fully appreciate the legal consequences: see Bradshaw v. Bradshaw, 2011 BCSC 1103 at 49; J.K.T. v. A.J.T, 2012 BCSC 491 at para 75.
