Does the role of a reviewing court to re-weigh evidence in a finding of fact?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Galla v. Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, 2007 BCSC 350 (CanLII):

[17] As with all findings of fact, the role of the reviewing court is not to re-weigh evidence. It was for the adjudicator to weigh the evidence in making findings of fact and it was open to the adjudicator to draw inferences from those findings so long as his conclusions were not patently unreasonable (Gordon v. British Columbia, 2002 BCCA 224).
