Is there any case law supporting the argument that joint tortfeasors exist?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Edwards v. Khuong, 2002 BCCA 620 (CanLII):

I do not find this submission compelling. In Cook v. Lewis, Cartwight J. delivered reasons on behalf of three members of the five panel bench. He said that the defendants, simply because they were out hunting together, were not joint tortfeasors. Further, that there was no evidence on which it could be found that the relationship of principal and agent or of master and servant or of partners existed.
