What is the definition of a contract for performance by payment by payment and by building the house and transferring the property?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Woodward v. Artisan Homes Inc., 2015 ABPC 226 (CanLII):

In my view some specificity as to the time for performance by payment and by building the house and transferring the property is required in a contract of this kind and, while the date for performance need not necessarily be fixed at the time of the agreement, it must at least be ascertainable and an agreement that it is “to be determined” does not create a contract.
