I conclude that agreements to forbear and mere acknowledgments of debts are two different things. I say this because in Rosas there was similarly no writing that acknowledged the debt, which the former Limitation Act required. The absence of any writing is apparent from the trial judgment in that case (Rosas v. Toca, 2016 BCSC 1754):
