Does a delay of one year delay in a career as a pilot affect a plaintiff's career prospects as a lawyer?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from J.D. v. Chandra, 2014 BCSC 466 (CanLII):

In Hillman v. Esaryk, 2014 BCSC 170 at para. 25, McEwan J. found that a one year delay in the start of a career as a pilot would be meaningless over a lifetime. I conclude the same here, even if there was a possibility that the accident contributed to a delay in the start of the plaintiff’s career as a lawyer.
