Is a contract where a plaintiff agrees to provide extensive assistance to a deceased person in exchange for a promise she will inherit his estate?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Wood v. Nolte, 2011 BCSC 692 (CanLII):

In Dhillon v. Willis Estate (Official Administrator), [1993] B.C.J. No. 141, the court found there was a contract whereby the plaintiff agreed to provide extensive assistance to the deceased in exchange for a promise she would inherit his estate. She provided the assistance, but he left his estate to others. The court found there was a clear and unequivocal promise the deceased would leave everything to the plaintiff and she had fulfilled all of her obligations.
