law . . . ." ( 425.16, subd. (e).)4 If the defendant shows the cause of action arises from a statement described in subdivisions (e)(1) or (e)(2) of section 425.16, the defendant is not required to separately demonstrate that the statement was made in connection with a "public issue." (Briggs v. Eden Council for Hope & Opportunity (1999) 19 Cal.4th 1106, 1113.)
