The following excerpt is from Keating v. Superior Court of The City and County of San Francisco, 278 P.2d 510 (Cal. App. 1955):

The writ must be denied on two grounds. (1) The state of mind of a trial judge as to the lack of credibility of one of the parties, formed during the trial of a case, and based upon the evidence in the case does not amount to bias or prejudice.
