What is the test for admissibility of uncorroborated accomplice testimony in a criminal case?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from Mitchell P., In re, 151 Cal.Rptr. 330, 22 Cal.3d 946, 587 P.2d 1144 (Cal. 1978):

2 This case does not present the issue of admissibility of accomplice testimony. Appellant is not aided by the provisions of section 701 requiring an adjudication to be "supported by evidence, legally admissible in the trial of criminal cases." Penal Code section 1111 does not render uncorroborated accomplice testimony inadmissible. (See People v. Bowley (1963) 59 Cal.2d 855, 858, 31 Cal.Rptr. 471, 382 P.2d 591; People v. Santos (1933) 134 Cal.App. 736, 746, 26 P.2d 522.)
