In addition to an adequate record, appellant's briefing also must state each claim under a separate heading summarizing the point, support each claim with argument and, if possible, with citation to authority. (Cal. Rules of Court, rule 8.204(a)(1)(B).) "Issues do not have a life of their own: if they are not raised or supported by argument or citation to authority, we consider the issues waived. [Citations.]" (Jones v. Superior Court (1994) 26 Cal.App.4th 92, 99.) In some cases, a reviewing court chooses to pass on the issue where the appellant has not carried his burden.
