A member of an unincorporated association or club can be personally liable if he authorizes or ratifies the expenditure made or incurred for the purposes of the club: Pears v. Stormont, [1911] 24 O.L.R. 508 at 512, 20 O.W.R. 625, 3 O.W.N. 374 (M.C.) (Boyd C).
