Where spousal support entitlement is non-compensatory and therefore ordered to relieve against the economic consequences of the end of the marriage and to allow the recipient to adjust to economic independence and self-sufficiency, time limited support may be reasonable (see Bracklow v. Bracklow, (1999) 1999 CanLII 715 (SCC), 1 S.C.R. 420). The husband asks that I make a sort, time limited support order.
