How is the estate of a testatrix divided between her two daughters and her grandchildren?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Smith v. Smith, 2009 BCSC 1737 (CanLII):

In Graham v. Chalmers, 2008 BCSC 1246, the testatrix had two daughters. One of the daughters had two grandchildren. The estate was effectively divided equally among those four persons. The court recognized that there was a moral obligation upon the testatrix owed to her two daughters; there was no such moral duty owed to the grandchildren.
