Can a release be challenged if there are issues with the release?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Isailovic v. Gertner, 2008 CanLII 1537 (ON SC):

A release can be challenged if there are problems with the release or the negotiations surrounding the release. However, it is not open to an individual who has signed the release to later attack the release on the basis that he or she was right in the original dispute (Radhakrishnan v. University of Calgary Faculty Assn. at para. 47).
