The following excerpt is from Linklater v. Essar Steel Algoma Inc., 2019 HRTO 273 (CanLII):

I do not see, however, that the reduction in pay can be considered discriminatory. As noted in Hurrell v. CANUSA-CPS, 2010 HRTO 1840 at paragraph 84: it is clear under the law that an employer is only required to pay an employee whom it is accommodating for the actual work performed by the employee.
