What is the test for damages for future care costs in a motor vehicle accident?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Lucas v Canniff, 2021 BCSC 1014 (CanLII):

The purpose of an award for future care costs is to restore the plaintiff to her pre-accident condition, to the extent that is possible with a monetary award. Damages for the cost of future care must be medically justified, reasonable, and likely to be incurred by the plaintiff. If the court is not satisfied that the plaintiff will use the service, then damages to cover the future costs of the service should not be awarded: Warick v. Diwell, 2018 BCCA 53, at paras. 24 and 56.
