In what circumstances will professional investigators or evaluators interview a child who has been accused of sexual assault?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto v. H.(L.D.), 2008 ONCJ 783 (CanLII):

[247] In the context of parental separation, the child may have been questioned by the accusing parent many times before a professional investigator is contacted. After these discussions any interview by investigators or evaluators suffers from potential problems of “tainting”. See, for example, Keisling v. Keisling, supra.
