Does the presumption of advancement apply when a parent funds in a joint account with an adult independent child?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Ast v. Mikolas, 2010 BCSC 127 (CanLII):

In Pecore v. Pecore, 2007 SCC 17, [2007] 1 S.C.R. 795, it was determined that in circumstances where a parent places funds in a joint account with an adult independent child, the presumption of advancement does not apply, as it does with respect to minor children where the parental obligation to support dependent children justifies the presumption.
