The obligation to become self-supporting is an obligation to make reasonable efforts to become self-sufficient: Rogers v. Rogers, 1999 BCCA 238, 173 D.L.R. (4th) 449 at para. 46. It is not “a duty”: Leskun v. Leskun, 2006 SCC 25, [2006] 1 S.C.R. 920 at paras. 26-27.
