What is the range of deductions for lost years in a personal injury case?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Ediger v. Johnston, 2009 BCSC 386 (CanLII):

In my view, if a “lost years” award is to be made, as it must be on the applicable law, it should be conservative, as Mr. Justice Hall indicated in Brimacombe v. Mathews at para. 248. In the circumstances, I will apply a deduction of 80 percent.
