It is well accepted that, in determining an appropriate quantum of damages to compensate the plaintiff for pain, suffering, and the loss of enjoyment of life occasioned by a defendant's negligence, a number of considerations will inform the analysis. These considerations include taking into account the particular circumstances of the plaintiff: Stapley v. Hejslet at para. 106.
