That defence to the effect that, apart from religion, hunting is at the root of the culture and way of life of the Coast Salish people so that its prohibition attains the appellants qua Indians is indistinguishable from the defence dismissed in Dick v. The Queen [1985 CanLII 80 (SCC), [1985] 2 S.C.R. 309], in which judgment is being delivered today. It should accordingly be dismissed for the same reasons in the case at bar. VII‑‑Conclusions
