What is the impact of a future or hypothetical possibility on an individual's health?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Romanchych v. Vallianatos, 2009 BCSC 669 (CanLII):

The future or hypothetical possibility will be taken into consideration as long as it is a real and substantial possibility and not mere speculation: Athey v. Leonati, 1996 CanLII 183 (SCC), [1996] 3 S.C.R. 458, 140 D.L.R. (4th) 235 at para. 27.

Of particular assistance in this case is Sinnott v. Boggs, 2007 BCCA 267, 69 B.C.L.R. (4th) 276, because it too involves a young person not yet settled into a career. The plaintiff in the instant case has recent post-secondary education in chemistry, but is not able to use that degree in her current position. She is neither fulfilled nor stimulated by her work at Freybe.
