How have counsel dealt with the division of assets and spousal support in the context of a four way meeting?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Steward v Hindman, 2021 BCSC 1265 (CanLII):

Counsel took a global approach to the division of assets and spousal support in the context of the four way meeting. In accordance with appellate authority, including Narayan v. Narayan, 2006 BCCA 561 and Tedham v. Tedham, 2005 BCCA 502, the correct approach is to deal with property division before determining spousal support in order to avoid the risk of double recovery by the recipient spouse.
