What is the test for refusing to grant recognition of a divorce that is not genuine divorce?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Wood v. Wood, 1974 CanLII 242 (AB QB):

Lord Pearce then goes on to say that the courts reserve the right to refuse a recognition of a decree which offends the court's notions of genuine divorce or when the decree offends against substantial justice. He then quoted from the reasons for judgment in the case of Arnold v. Arnold, [1957] P. 237, [1957] 1 All E.R. 570, which I will refer to later in this judgment.
