What is the value of siding on a 20 year old house?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Digness v. Paul Lalonde Enterprises Ltd., 2005 SKQB 64 (CanLII):

By way of example, new siding on a 20-year-old house undoubtedly increases its value. If the plaintiff is awarded the full costs of replacing the siding on her house, she will obtain a significant benefit at the defendant’s expense. Unfortunately, no evidence was adduced by the parties to address this issue. Most of the focus at trial was on the liability issue. But as indicated in Prebushewski v. Dodge City Auto (1984) Ltd., supra, the court is required to take such factors into account, including salvage value and the like.
