In Bartolo v. Boardwalk Regency Hotel Casino, 185 N.J. Super. 534, 449 A.2d 1339 (1982), the plaintiffs were patrons of a casino. The defendants suspected that the plaintiffs were using various devices to swindle the casino, and informed them that they had been found out. The plaintiffs were then instructed to follow the guards, and were subjected to physical force as well. When the plaintiffs refused to provide identification, they were threatened with arrest.
