What is the quantum of support for a married couple in a separation proceeding?

Northwest Territories, Canada

The following excerpt is from Gross v Gross, 2006 NWTSC 66 (CanLII):

In assessing quantum, again, the duration of the marriage is one factor I must consider, but is only one factor. At the same time, need is not the only consideration. In fact, it does not follow from the fact that needs serves as the predicate for support that the quantum of the support must always be equal to that need. Bracklow v. Bracklow, supra, at para.54.
