How have the courts dealt with the issue of income determination for each party?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Onichuk v. Toews, 2018 MBQB 191 (CanLII):

At my direction, counsel submitted written argument on the issue of income determination for each party, which arguments also addressed the respondent’s claim for occupation rent. My June 11, 2018 judgment respecting those issues set out the background of the parties’ relationship and some of the litigation to the time of trial, as well as addressing determination of each party’s income from 2013 on and dismissing the respondent’s claim for occupation rent (see Onichuk v. Toews, 2018 MBQB 98).
