What are the matrimonial debts of the parties?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Peleshaty v. Peleshaty, 2007 ABQB 598 (CanLII):

Overall, I have been guided in my assessment of the matrimonial debts by the reasoning of our Court of Appeal in Carmichael v. Carmichael, 2007 ABCA 3, 404 A.R. 144, at para. 23: Debt is generally considered to be matrimonial debt if it was related to the acquisition of matrimonial assets, or to the maintenance of the lifestyle of the parties.
