Is it appropriate for a hearing panel to accept a joint submission?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Law Society of Ontario v. Zaitzeff, 2021 ONLSTH 108 (CanLII):

We are guided by the jurisprudence that a hearing panel is encouraged to accept joint submissions except where the panel concludes that it is outside a range of what is reasonable in the circumstances. “Simply put, only truly unreasonable or ‘unconscionable’ joint submissions should be rejected.” Law Society of Upper Canada v. Cooper, 2009 ONLSAP 7 at paras. 13-19.
