Is a photo depicting "what is undeniably overt sexual activity" sufficient to establish that mandatory sex offender registration does not violate equal protection?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Linares, B281309 (Cal. App. 2018):

Shoemaker v. Harris, supra, 214 Cal.App.4th at page 1224 involved a photo depicting "what is undeniably overt sexual activity" and held that mandatory sex offender registration under Penal Code section 290 did not violate equal protection. (Id. at pp. 1223-1231.) That holding is of no assistance today.
