What is the test for calculating the damages of a plaintiff in a motor vehicle accident?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Bunyan v. Kleber, 1939 CanLII 131 (SK CA):

The difficulty in arriving at the amount of the damages suffered by the plaintiff is very clearly set out in the case of Haack v. Martin 1927 CanLII 57 (SCC), [1927] S.C.R. 413. However, the difficulty or impossibility of assessing such damages with mathematical accuracy does not relieve the defendant from liability.
